Recently I heard about coworking, where lone workers and startups share office space instead of working alone in back-bedrooms at home. Coworking is not a re-hash of the old telecottage idea or another version of the serviced office, it is more about community and informality.

Many of the coworking spaces that are already up and running are in metropolitan areas, but I am thinking that this could be a great way for those of us that live in smaller communities to gather to share ideas and work on projects. That does not mean just IT types, but anyone working on their own who would like to spend some time with other human beings.

I am very interested in starting something here in Tavistock, but in the beginning it could just be an informal meet-up in a local coffee shop. Perhaps an afternoon session once a week to network and talk about what each person is working on and how its going - a bit of real-world community building, if you like.

If you are interested in meeting up in Tavistock, get in touch.
